Shakespeare Putsman has beaten off stiff competition to retain its place as one of Capgemini's advisers on employment law in the UK.
Capgemini, a global leader in the field of consulting, technology and outsourcing, employs around 9,000 staff in the UK alone. Capgemini had previously used Birmingham-based firm Putsmans for employment advice and, following a tendering process and a combined bid by the then distinct Shakespeares and Putsmans employment teams, has retained the firm on its legal panel.
The experience offered by the new Shakespeare Putsman firm, a law firm that ranks in the top five in Birmingham, was one of the main reasons for the decision by Capgemini. The merger of Shakespeares and Putsmans brought together two strong employment teams with a broad variety of expert legal skills which, combined with Putsmans' existing knowledge of Capgemini, helped in retaining this account.
Amanda Shrimpton, Employee Relations Manager from Capgemini, said: "The panel with responsibility for legal services was very impressed with the united approach presented by the employment teams from Shakespeares and Putsmans. The joining together of the two firms will clearly add depth to Putsmans' already strong team."
